The Potter Drilling LLC developed drills of the fast drilling of hard rocks. A pipe is the basis of drill on the end of it hydrogen burns and destroys hard rocks such as granite. It is a gas burner, that quickly burns out opening of necessary diameter. In the future this technology will replace mechanical diamond drills. Such drills can works under water. Through such drills the specialists hope to drill holes to geothermal waters with a temperature more than 300º C and get access to production of cheap geothermal electricity. The technologies being developed and commercialized at Potter Drilling will provide a low cost means of harnessing the Earth’s latent energy in order to meet the growing energy demands of the 21st century in a sustainable manner.
